Design/Build/Fly Competition 2018
Congratulations!!!! ISE AERO students : Kasidis Sangkitporn, Shinaphadh Damrongsiri, Thanapat Kosiumnuay, Panin Ananwatanyoo, Raj Sondhi, Supakrid Kreecharoen, Supharada Viboonyaron, Somprasong Hanpaiboonsuk, Arachaporn Phucharoen, Narueporn Limprasutr were ranked 19th from 91 teams all around the world in the Cessna Aircraft and Raytheon Missile Systems AIAA Design/Build/Fly Competition 2018, which was held at Cessna East Field in Wichita, KS, USA. In this competition, student teams will design, fabricate, and demonstrate the flight capabilities of an unmanned, electric powered, radio controlled aircraft that can best meet the specified mission profile. The goal is a balanced design possessing good demonstrated flight handling qualities and practical and affordable manufacturing requirements while providing a high vehicle performance. The contest theme this year was a Regional and Business Aircraft. The aircraft was required to fly 3 flight missions with a combination of passengers and payload as well as demonstrate the ability to conduct LRU replacement in the field.

ISE AERO students won the award of the National Institute of Metrology
Congratulations!!! ISE Aero students,Mr. Napas Pasurapunya and Mr. Adithep Kawinkij won 3rd place and the popular vote of the Student Science Project Contest under the theme “Metrology and Sustainable Development” at the 20th anniversary celebration of the National Institute of Metrology (Thailand) at the Techno Thani, campus on June 8, 2018. Their project, titled “Design and Development of the CU Changeable Nozzle Supersonic Wind Tunnel” which aimed to design a Supersonic Wind Tunnel for the university’s senior project with the ultimate goal of developing educational equipment for AERO students to study aircraft or supersonic objects at high speeds. It is also the first Supersonic Wind Tunnel produced by Thai students in Thailand (The second supersonic wind tunnel in Thailand)

AIS Representative guest lecture on telecommunications systems to 2nd year ICE program students
AIS Representative guest lecture on telecommunications systems to 2nd year ICE program students On September, 26, 2017, Khun Montakarn Ahkuputra, Khun Rakpong Chongchiranont and Khun Pongtep Cheanudomsa from AIS Technical Service Development Department were invited as guest Lecturers for Introduction to Information and communication Engineering class. The goal of the lecture was to introduce students to the field of telecommunications systems and engineering and to inspire students to develop curiosity and interest in this field. For this activity, students were divided into 2 groups : Khun Pongtep Cheanudomsa gave a lecture on the basics of 3G/4G telecommunication, core network, transmission and radio network to the first group of students. The second group of students visited node B at the roof top of Building 4 and was led by Khun Rakpong Chongchiranont, who briefed the students on the hardware used in telecommunications systems. The students asked a lot of questions and the activity almost ran overtime. We hope to invite AIS again to share their technical knowledge and experience with ICE students in the near future

Chula Engineering and ISE students have won the award of GSEC
Chula Engineering and ISE students Wit Chunkum : Nano Engineering, Apasorn Phatanachinda : Aerospace Engineering , Atikarn Tiraviriyapol : Nano Engineering, Napasorn Yaibuates : Industrial Engineering,Pattamon Puttawong :Chemical Engineering, Pongpak Katanyutanon : Environmental Engineering ,Pattanan Thamrujikul : Petroleum Engineering,Rittanupap Thavorn: Chemical Engineering have won the award Best Team Showcase of The Global Student Engineering Conference (GSEC) 2017 which is organised by the University College London Mechanical Engineering Society (UCL MES). The first of its kind, the inaugural conference seeks to convene engineering students to foster the exchange of ideas and knowledge in order to make a positive impact in their communities. Through a series of guest lectures, workshops and industrial visits, GSEC aims to: • Empower student engineers to step up as agents of change in building a collective future • Foster meaningful relationships between youth leaders across regions • Connect talented delegates with some of today’s leaders in academia, industry and government The theme of this year’s conference is Sustainable Cities. The conference draws upon the diverse perspectives of delegates from different regions of the world to demonstrate the crucial role that Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) play in advancing economic and social progress without compromising pertinent environmental aspects. Eventually, we hope that these engineering-led discussions will increase exposure and rouse interest of the application of STEM in tackling a few of the world’s most eminent problems today
