Orientation of Inbound Exchange Students AY2021/1
On Friday, August 6, 2021, ISE organized an Online Orientation for Inbound Exchange Students of the First semester, Academic Year 2021 via Microsoft Teams. There are 33 inbound exchange students from France, Germany and Japan. Specifically, there are 21 in ICE, 1 in NANO, 4 in ADME, 5 in AERO and 2 in Robotics & AI. In the orientation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Witaya Wannasuphoprasit gave a welcome speech. Students received information of Chulalongkorn University, Faculty of Engineering, and ISE. In addition, they were informed the regulations of visa renewal, CU health insurance for all exchange students, study program, important procedures and deadlines related to registration, online mode of teaching/learning, and relevant documents. Students were split to meet with their advisors in 2 breakout rooms. Mr. Romtam Kangsawiwat, a third year student of AERO Program and Head of Engineering Expats Community Club at Faculty of Engineering and Ms. Chayanin Sayamchai, a third year student of AERO Program served as MCs and introduced the planned student activities as the last part of the orientation.
Workshop on Preparing International School of Engineering Programs towards ABET accreditation
On Monday July 12, 2021, 08:30 A.M.-2.00 P.M. ISE with support from Office of Higher Education Commission organized a workshop on preparing ISE programs towards ABET accreditation. The speaker is Professor Dr. Methi Wecharatana, a professor and associate chair for graduate studies of New Jersey Institute of Technology. Moreover, he is an adviser to the board of directors of the Association of Thai Professionals in America and Canada (ATPAC). He is one of the alumni of Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, majored in Civil Engineering. Assistant Professor Dr. Phavanee Narataruksa helped coordination of the workshop. The objective of this workshop is to introduce the ABET accreditation criteria and to guide the international programs towards ABET accreditation. Associate Professor Dr. Tawatchai Charinpanitkul, Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, made a welcome address and opened the workshop. Topics of workshop include the following: ABET Accreditation: Overview Understanding What, Why and How Key Features of ABET system ABET Criteria What to DO to Prepare for ABET There were 35 participants including the ISE management, the ISE faculty staff, the curriculum management committee from the AERO, ADME, ICE, NANO, and Robotics & AI programs, the curriculum revision committee, and the ISE supporting staff. After the presentation, there was fruitful discussion. Associate Professor Dr. Witaya Wannasuphoprasit, ISE Director, made a concluding remark and thanked the speaker and all the participants.

AIS Representative guest lecture on telecommunications systems to 2nd year ICE program students On September, 26, 2017, Khun Montakarn Ahkuputra, Khun Rakpong Chongchiranont and Khun Pongtep Cheanudomsa from AIS Technical Service Development Department were invited as guest Lecturers for Introduction to Information and communication Engineering class. The goal of the lecture was to introduce students to the field of telecommunications systems and engineering and to inspire students to develop curiosity and interest in this field. For this activity, students were divided into 2 groups : Khun Pongtep Cheanudomsa gave a lecture on the basics of 3G/4G telecommunication, core network, transmission and radio network to the first group of students. The second group of students visited node B at the roof top of Building 4 and was led by Khun Rakpong Chongchiranont, who briefed the students on the hardware used in telecommunications systems. The students asked a lot of questions and the activity almost ran overtime. We hope to invite AIS again to share their technical knowledge and experience with ICE students in the near future

Chula Engineering and ISE students Wit Chunkum : Nano Engineering, Apasorn Phatanachinda : Aerospace Engineering , Atikarn Tiraviriyapol : Nano Engineering, Napasorn Yaibuates : Industrial Engineering,Pattamon Puttawong :Chemical Engineering, Pongpak Katanyutanon : Environmental Engineering ,Pattanan Thamrujikul : Petroleum Engineering,Rittanupap Thavorn: Chemical Engineering have won the award Best Team Showcase of The Global Student Engineering Conference (GSEC) 2017 which is organised by the University College London Mechanical Engineering Society (UCL MES). The first of its kind, the inaugural conference seeks to convene engineering students to foster the exchange of ideas and knowledge in order to make a positive impact in their communities. Through a series of guest lectures, workshops and industrial visits, GSEC aims to: • Empower student engineers to step up as agents of change in building a collective future • Foster meaningful relationships between youth leaders across regions • Connect talented delegates with some of today’s leaders in academia, industry and government The theme of this year’s conference is Sustainable Cities. The conference draws upon the diverse perspectives of delegates from different regions of the world to demonstrate the crucial role that Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) play in advancing economic and social progress without compromising pertinent environmental aspects. Eventually, we hope that these engineering-led discussions will increase exposure and rouse interest of the application of STEM in tackling a few of the world’s most eminent problems today

ISE EEW Innovation Challenge
First year ISE students from all four programmes took part in the ISE EEW Innovation Challenge competition on 24 April. The competition is a final part of Exploring Engineering World course, the course where the students have learned to apply engineering principles and multi-disciplinary skills to create and present their innovative products. In this event, six finalists competed to present their products to student and professor audience. The first place went to the group “Overuse of Toilet Papers”. The second place was “Invisual Online and Offline Marketing”, who also won a Popular Vote award. The third place was “IELC”. The runners-up are “Poorly-Managed Bus Lane in Bangkok”, “Hail-mate” and “Grab Help”. All the products and presentations are truly impressive! You all are brilliant. Congratulations!
