AerCap Executives Strengthen Partnership with Chula Engineering and Inspire Aerospace Engineering Students On 14 November 2024, we were honoured to welcome Mr. John Burke, Chief Technical Officer of AerCap, and Mr. Prakash Thirunavakarasu, Vice President Technical, APAC, to Chulalongkorn University. Their visit highlighted the strong partnership between AerCap and our Faculty of Engineering. The session began with a strategic meeting between AerCap executives and the Faculty’s Dean, joined by ISE management and the Aerospace Engineering faculty members. Key discussions focused on the impact of the AerCap Scholarship Program, potential Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives, and opportunities for further industry-academic collaboration. We are grateful to AerCap for their commitment to supporting and inspiring our students. Following the formal session, AerCap executives joined an informal meet-and-greet with AerCap scholarship recipients and other aerospace engineering students. This open exchange allowed students to hear firsthand from industry leaders about career paths, industry trends, and the skills needed to thrive in the aviation sector. Our sincere thanks to AerCap for their continued dedication to student development. We look forward to more impactful collaborations in the future.

Charting the Future of Aviation: Chula Engineering Students Engage with AerCap Leaders in Exclusive Workshop The afternoon of 5 September 2024 was a landmark occasion for Chula Engineering students as they participated in an insightful Aviation Workshop led by esteemed AerCap executive, Mr Joe Millar. The workshop featured an expert presentation by Mr Millar, Vice President and Head of Technical Asia Pacific at AerCap. Nico Stevenson, Engineering and Technical Operations Associate at AerCap and a proud ISE alumnus, shared her insights and experiences. The workshop provided students with unparalleled insights into the latest trends and challenges in the aviation leasing industry. Mr Millar shared his extensive knowledge and experience which spans over 30 years in the aviation industry, offering a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities within the sector, including the evolution of aviation leasing aircraft and engine design, as well as ESG related topics and industry innovations. Former Aerospace Engineering graduate and recipient of the 2021 AerCap Scholarship, Ms Stevenson, shared insights into her journey from academia to transitioning to the working environment. Students were particularly enthused by the project discussions, which allowed them to explore real-world scenarios and innovative solutions in aerospace engineering. Since the beginning of the partnership in 2021, AerCap has been instrumental in enhancing the educational experience at Chula Engineering. This workshop further solidified the bond between AerCap and Chula, offering students the opportunity to engage directly with industry leaders who are shaping the future of aviation. It has motivated me to continue pushing my boundaries and explore new ideas in my studies." – Fourth-year Aerospace Engineering Student With over 50 students in attendance, the workshop was a resounding success, leaving participants motivated and eager to apply their newfound knowledge.
