Visiting Denso (Thailand)
Visiting Denso (Thailand) On 21st November 2018, a group of ADME students from the HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air conditioning) class, including a group of exchange students from France, had an opportunity to be the first group of students, to visit the factory of Denso (Thailand) Co, Ltd. located in Bangbo district, Samutprakan. The session was hosted by Mr. Pradit Mahasaksri, the Assistant General Manager. The aim of this educational tour was to let students discover themselves the real working environment in addition to participating in conventional class lectures. At the Denso factory, students had a chance to see activities necessary to produce parts, such as the HVAC module, the evaporator and the fin-tubes, which are related to the content taught in the HVAC class. As a result, the students were able to connect the theoretical aspects and practices in the industry. Not only that students had a chance to see how parts were produced, but they also had a chance to ask questions and listen to Mr. Pradit Mahasaksri in a Q&A session. He gave students an awareness on the factory life, role of R&D in the industry, and some words of wisdom in shaping their path forward. Finally, a lot of thanks to Denso (Thailand) for giving such a wonderful opportunity for our students to observe and learn. Denso is willing to continue this activity in coming years!

Congratulations to 4th year ISE NANO students
Mr.Panithan Srisinsuphya and Mr.Karn Rongrueangkul for being selected to attend the 20th International Conference on Molecular Beam Epitaxy (ICMBE 2018) at Shanghai, China in which the conference is held between 3rd to 7th of September 2018. The main purpose of this conference is to provide a prominent international forum for reporting new developments in the areas of fundamental and applied molecular beam epitaxy research, with participants from all around the world, such as USA, China, Japan, Germany and Russia. The NANO students provided an oral presentation with the title of “InSb/InAs Quantum Nano-Stripes Grown by Molecular Beam Epitaxy and Its Photoluminescence at Mid-Infrared Wavelength”. Their work, under supervision of Dr. Aniwat Tandaechanurat, a lecturer of NANO program at ISE, is the fabrication of nanostructured semiconductors using Molecular Beam Epitaxy. By applying the knowledge of quantum mechanics, the fabricated nanostructure can be used as a source for mid-infrared devices, allowing for the enhancement of mid-infrared sensing devices.

Future Innovators learn “Jobs to be done” theory by Professor Dr. Clayton M Christensen, Harvard Business School.
A group of 34, 3rd-year ISE Nano engineering students had the opportunity to learn the exciting “Jobs to be done” theory of Innovation from #PacRim Group “Find Out WHY” program. This session was organized by Dr. Aniwat Tandaechanurat, who leads the Introduction to Nanoelectronics course [2182440] of NANO program at ISE. Students in this course have the opportunity to apply what they learn as part of their term project – which is to build a “prototype innovative product”. At the PacRim Group session, students learnt WHY innovation fails; how to shift mindset; and use tools to uncover Customer “Jobs to be done”- not only functional needs but also social and emotional needs to ensure higher chance of Innovation success. Thanks #PacRim Group and Find Out WHY for shaping the minds of our engineers to be future innovators. Find more “Find Out WHY” https://www.pacrimgroup.com/#/program/find-out-why
