AerCap Executives Strengthen Partnership with Chula Engineering and Inspire Aerospace Engineering Students On 14 November 2024, we were honoured to welcome Mr. John Burke, Chief Technical Officer of AerCap, and Mr. Prakash Thirunavakarasu, Vice President Technical, APAC, to Chulalongkorn University. Their visit highlighted the strong partnership between AerCap and our Faculty of Engineering. The session began with a strategic meeting between AerCap executives and the Faculty’s Dean, joined by ISE management and the Aerospace Engineering faculty members. Key discussions focused on the impact of the AerCap Scholarship Program, potential Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives, and opportunities for further industry-academic collaboration. We are grateful to AerCap for their commitment to supporting and inspiring our students. Following the formal session, AerCap executives joined an informal meet-and-greet with AerCap scholarship recipients and other aerospace engineering students. This open exchange allowed students to hear firsthand from industry leaders about career paths, industry trends, and the skills needed to thrive in the aviation sector. Our sincere thanks to AerCap for their continued dedication to student development. We look forward to more impactful collaborations in the future.

Charting the Future of Aviation: Chula Engineering Students Engage with AerCap Leaders in Exclusive Workshop The afternoon of 5 September 2024 was a landmark occasion for Chula Engineering students as they participated in an insightful Aviation Workshop led by esteemed AerCap executive, Mr Joe Millar. The workshop featured an expert presentation by Mr Millar, Vice President and Head of Technical Asia Pacific at AerCap. Nico Stevenson, Engineering and Technical Operations Associate at AerCap and a proud ISE alumnus, shared her insights and experiences. The workshop provided students with unparalleled insights into the latest trends and challenges in the aviation leasing industry. Mr Millar shared his extensive knowledge and experience which spans over 30 years in the aviation industry, offering a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities within the sector, including the evolution of aviation leasing aircraft and engine design, as well as ESG related topics and industry innovations. Former Aerospace Engineering graduate and recipient of the 2021 AerCap Scholarship, Ms Stevenson, shared insights into her journey from academia to transitioning to the working environment. Students were particularly enthused by the project discussions, which allowed them to explore real-world scenarios and innovative solutions in aerospace engineering. Since the beginning of the partnership in 2021, AerCap has been instrumental in enhancing the educational experience at Chula Engineering. This workshop further solidified the bond between AerCap and Chula, offering students the opportunity to engage directly with industry leaders who are shaping the future of aviation. Chula Engineering Celebrates AerCap Scholarship Awards 2024 Chulalongkorn University’s Faculty of Engineering proudly hosted the prestigious AerCap Scholarship Awards Ceremony on 5 September 2024. The event recognized ten outstanding aerospace engineering students for their academic excellence and promising futures in the aerospace industry. The ceremony was graced by Mr. Joe Millar, Vice President and Head of Technical Asia Pacific at AerCap, alongside distinguished faculty members. Mr. Millar presented the scholarship certificates, a testament to AerCap’s unwavering commitment to nurturing the next generation of leaders in aviation. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Witaya Wannasuphoprasit, Dean of Chula Engineering, expressed profound gratitude to AerCap, highlighting the long-standing partnership that began in 2021. He emphasized how this collaboration has significantly enriched the academic and professional trajectories of Chula’s students. The scholarship recipients also shared heartfelt thanks, emphasizing the life-changing impact of AerCap’s support. The AerCap Scholarship is fully funded, covering all tuition and program fees until graduation. It also offers the students the opportunity to participate in an internship and research projects with AerCap. The AerCap Scholarship continues to play an instrumental role in empowering Chula Engineering students, enabling them to excel in their academic pursuits and contribute meaningfully to the aerospace industry. FIRST MEET OF INBOUND EXCHANGE STUDENTS, SEMESTER 1 ACADEMIC YEAR 2024
First Meet of Inbound Exchange Students, Semester 1 Academic Year 2024 On August 21, 2024, The Engineering Expats Club, in collaboration with International School of Engineering, hosted the "First Meet for Inbound Exchange Students" for the first semester of the academic year 2024. The gathering welcomed exchange students from prestigious partner universities in Denmark, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Singapore, Spain, and Sweden. The event aimed to integrate these students into the university community by providing opportunities to interact with Thai students through a series of engaging games and ice-breaking activities. Each exchange student was paired with a Thai buddy to assist with settling in and to support each other throughout the semester.

Warm Welcome for Exchange Students at Chula ISE! On Friday, August 2, 2024, the International School of Engineering (ISE) hosted a welcome orientation for the new exchange students beginning their first semester of the 2024 academic year. During the event, Assistant Professor Tawan Paphapote gave a warm and informative welcome speech, introducing the students to Chulalongkorn University and the ISE program. The orientation covered crucial information, including university regulations, cultural norms, and important guidelines for their stay in Thailand. Students also received details on registration procedures, deadlines, and key do's and don’ts to help ensure a smooth and enriching exchange experience.
