Viggo K. Hansen is an engineer and project manager specializing in aerospace engineering, chemical processes, and CNC machining. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Applied and Computational Mathematical Sciences from the University of Washington. Hansen has held various roles in the industry, including Senior Propulsion Engineer and Head of Manufacturing at Equatorial Space Systems, as well as Manufacturing Manager at mu Space Corp.
Hansen's professional experience spans the development of hybrid rocket systems, software projects, and educational programs. He holds multiple patents, co-invented with faculty from the University of Washington, on technologies such as supersonic shock wave reactors for alkane-to-alkene conversion and hypervelocity launchers using a baffled tube design.
His technical expertise includes Siemens NX, SolidWorks, Python, and MATLAB, LabView, as well as hands-on experimentation with propellants and propulsion devices.

- Team leader of University of Washington (UW) sounding rocket team.
- Designed/Fabricated novel and highly reliable paraffin hybrid rocket
using N2O self-pressurization system, showed stable combustion
due to novel injector design.
- Utilized unique diagnostics such as chromatography to observe
CO/CO2 ratio during propulsion static test programs.
- Integrated and flew the complete rocket at Green River Utah
competition exceeding the altitude and performance goals.
