ISE celebrates 12th anniversary with new management policy to move towards international standards

The International School of Engineering (ISE), Chulalongkorn University is recognized internationally as the most preferred international engineering school in ASEAN that cultivates world-class engineers who are well-equipped with required skills and knowledge and be ready for local and global challenges. Today is the day to celebrate its 12th anniversary and success with the announcement of new management policy to enhance education quality at par with international standards, as well as to highlight its leadership as the hub for engineering education in the ASEAN region. In the past 12 years, the International School of Engineering has cultivated 1,266 potential engineering graduates who work in both local and international companies.

Assoc. Prof. Tawatchai Charinpanitkul, Associate Dean of Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, stated that “The Faculty of Engineering of Chulalongkorn University is the first engineering school in Thailand with a 104-year-old history. Besides, the International School of Engineering already enters its 12th anniversary. I am very proud that our institute is admired and recognized internationally as a leading engineering school that produces engineers with outstanding skills and knowledge. This is because we emphasize on innovative education, innovative research, and development of innovative engineering curriculum under the engineering 4.0 scheme according to the government’s policy. With our vision to establish student development in four vital fields: knowledge, personal skills, interpersonal skills, and design thinking to cope with future change in technology and society, it ensures that our graduates are well-equipped and ready to lead the industry and contribute productively to society.

Therefore, our 12th anniversary is the most suitable event to announce our development for the International School of Engineering with our brand new management policy. We will emphasize mostly on learning area that can be applied in real life. We will also involve in international activities for example, Student Exchange Program in which we exchange students with leading universities around the world, job training in both local and international research agencies, and cooperation with industrial sector for training and learning about utilizing modern equipment for innovative design. Moreover, we cooperate with various agencies in activities that promote sustainable environmental conservation.”

Asst. Prof. Dr. Witaya Wannasuphoprasit, Director of the International School of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, revealed that “Our mission is to provide world-class engineers for innovative society in order to highlight our reputation as a leading engineering school in Southeast Asia. We provide outstanding services and facilities such as Active Learning classroom, modern library, research center, and i-Design Workspace. The Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University offers 12 bachelor programs. Over 4,000 students from all over the country enrolled in bachelor programs and another 2,000 students enrolled in master and doctoral programs. We have more than 300 qualified lecturers, most of whom hold doctoral degrees from world-renowned institutes.”
